There has been a lot of rumors over the past year or so whether or not Daniel Craig will return for another James Bond movie and if he doesn’t who else can fill the void. It has been reported that Daniel Craig has been offered a large amount of money to remain in the role.
According to the Radar Sony Producers have offered the star $150 million for another two Bond movies. The site’s sources state that Sony is looking to shoot both of the films back to back while they search for a replacement for 007. Daniel Craig has yet to respond whether or not he will return for the next film and Sony has made no official statement on this report.
While there have been whispers of possible replacements such as Idris Elba, Michael Fassbender, and Tom Hiddleston. However, this is a classic issue where an actor fits the role perfectly that they become that character. Therefore, finding actors that are able to replace them is next to impossible. This goes for iconic roles such as Iron Man, The Joker, or even Han Solo.
Craig made it very clear that last year’s Spectre film was a tough shoot and that he wasn’t looking to delve into another Bond based movie. “I’d rather break this glass and slash my wrists,” he told TimeOut. “No, not at the moment. Not at all. That’s fine. I’m over it at the moment. We’re done [filming Spectre]. All I want to do is move on.
“At the moment, we’ve done it. I’m not in discussion with anybody about anything. If I did another Bond movie, it would only be for the money.”
