How To Make Smooth Stone In Minecraft

Smooth Stone is a popular choice among users when designing their bases in Minecraft. It is great for using as a pathway or as an accent piece for the outside of your building. However, making smooth stone might seem a bit complicated because it’s a little odd to make.

What You Will Need

To make Smooth Stone you will need a Furnace, Coal, and CobbleStone (or Stone if you already have it).

Time needed: 2 minutes

How to craft Smooth Stone in Minecraft Survival Mode

  1. Open Your Furnace Menu

Open your furnace menu so that you can begin to enter your ingredients.

  2. Add Fuel to the Furnace

Add your coal into the bottom part of your furnace.

  3. Add Your CobbleStone

Next, you’re going to add your Cobblestone into the top slot. Let it burn then you will end up with Stone.

  4. Add Your Stone

Afterward, move your stone back into the Furnace and let it burn some more. This will leave you with Smooth Stone.

  5. Collect The Smooth Stone

After you have made all the smooth stone you need simply move the smooth stone into your inventory.

Some Notes

You can gather stone by mining with a pick that has the silk touch enchantment. This will allow you to skip step 3 and move right onto step 4.

A blast furnace can be used in place of a furnace if you have one. Remember though that a blast furnace consumes more fuel, and completes the job at a much faster pace.

Smooth Stone can be used to make many building block items such as Smooth Stone Slabs, which can allow your base to have a cleaner look to it.
