Tekken 7 launched last week and it has a very successful launch. It has landed in the number one position for the weekly sales charts in the UK this period ended on June 3rd.
This is a record as the last time a Tekken game has debuted at Number 1 was Tekken 3 for the PlayStation 1 and this was back in 1999. Which truly says something in regards to the quality and the fan base of the Tekken series.
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 opened at Number 2 back in 2012, which was beaten by Sleeping Dogs. Tekken 6 debuted at Number 8 and this was back in 2009.
The top 5 on the list include Overwatch (which recently had a price drop), Injustice 2, Grand Theft Auto V, and FIFA 17 (because football).
Prey came in as number 6, while number 7 was given to Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands, Horizon Zero Dawn took number 8, Rocket League surprisingly came in as number 9 while Mario Kart 8 makes it to number 10.
All of these are solid games but there are some important notes. Overwatch and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recond: Wildlands did not go up in ranking, Tekken 7 made it onto the charts as number one. In addition you can view the Top 40 games by visiting this page.
