Nintendo says they are releasing the classic Pokemon Gold and Silver titles on 3DS Virtual Console, this fall.
Pokemon Gold and Silver, similar to the red, blue, and yellow versions, will feature wireless connectivity. This allows players to battle and trade with each other. The new titles are compatible with Pokemon Bank. With Pokemon bank, players can transfer their monster collection to Pokemon Sun and Moon, and Ultra Sun and Moon. Last, but not least, players can use the Time Capsule feature to trade Pokemon, from the Blue, Yellow, and Red to the 2nd generation titles.
Pokemon Gold and Silver, released in the early 2000s, and were the first popular sequels in the Pokemon franchise. They took advantage of the expanded color features on Game Boy and released 100 new Pokemon. As well as two new types of Pokemon, Dark and Steel.
Pokemon Blue, Red, and Yellow, released in 2016 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the game, will be joined by the Gold and Silver titles on September 22. However, representatives made no mention of the Pokemon Crystal version.
