Kim Kardashian Reveals How Much She Makes From Her Game

"Sorry I'm late to the party guys I was busy cashing my 80 million video game check..."

Kim Kardashian and video games two things you never would think to hear in the same sentence and sadly enough its true. Kim Kardashian Hollywood, is a huge hit in terms of how many people are actively playing the game and how much money is being brought in from the game.

Until now we had no idea how much money this game was actually bringing in since it was a free-to-play mobile game with microtransactions.

Now, Kim herself has revealed some insight into how much she has made from the game according to a twitter post which reads the following. The amount is quite astonishing and the only assumption that can be made from here is that this is her share of the revenue which still begs the question regarding how much of the share she is getting and how much the game is costing to maintain.

There are also some questions regarding individual statistics (how much each average person spends) and some petty details but this is truly astounding.

sorry I’m late to the party guys I was busy cashing my 80 million video game check & transferring 53 million into our joint account

On February 17, a Glu Mobile executive, Niccolo de Masi, revealed that Kim Kardashian Hollywood has been downloaded more than 42 million times since its launch in the summer 2014. Players at the time logged around 3.29 billion sessions and spent over 35,000 years in the game.

The exec explained that the reason the game is so popular is because its promotion feels “authentic.” Kardashian posts about the game to her Twitter and Instagram pages occasionally, bringing it to the attention of over 100 million combined followers.

De Masi added by stating that Hollywood aims to feel like a “living breathing” game because it is constantly changing and evolves based on what Kim Kardashian does in real life in that sense players are more invested with the game because there is a personal connection to real life for them.

The success of this game has even sparked interest by Kendall and Kylie Jenner who have since launched their own game developed by Glu Mobile. There is also talk of a potential Taylor Swift game launching this year.

My Thoughts

The reason that these games are doing well is because players have a personal connection with the outside world which is both amazing and devastating for any game. These types of games require the stars to be doing well or to be interesting enough for these games to succeed and if something were to simply either cripple their abilities (some sort of injury) or anything that could happen to the star the game would lose interest since its very tied to that person. Regardless congratulations Kim I am not sure how you did it but you managed to make a game about your own life and everyone is making you millions.
