John Smedley, the former CEO of Daybreak Games has just announced that he will be founding a new company this month. Smedley has not released many details regarding this new company other than that he will founding it and acting as the CEO.
Smedley was formerly known as the CEO of Sony Online Entertainment and oversaw several major changes such as the creation of Vanguard: Saga of Heroes and the Combat Upgrade Of Star Wars Galaxies. Both of which lead to a lot of hate towards Smedley and it started to take a toll on the SOE brand as a whole.
Smedley ended up stepping down as the CEO of Daybreak after he was repeatedly harassed by a 17 year old lizard squad member. It was stated that he was just going to be taking some time away from the company so he could regain control of his life and relax after the constant harassment that he had faced.
However, it was announced Smedley would not be returning to the company and would instead be creating his own company. There has been very little information bout it other than it would be located in San Diego, California which is the same location as Daybreak.
