Daybreak Studio who has recently cancelled the much awaited and hyped EverQuest Next is now currently hiring for a new and undisclosed title. The company is looking to hire 15 people for positions such as Senior Producer, and Creative Directory which are all open for the new title.
Now this is completely contrary to an interview with Russel Shanks who stated that EverQuest Next’s cancellation was the last new project that the company was working on and that there would be no future projects. However, Shanks also mentioned that the EverQuest franchise had a lot of potential for future development.
This is a rather odd change of pace but it makes sense. After the announcement that EverQuest Next was going to be cancelled you would argue that Daybreak Games became the most hated Video Game company on the face of this planet. This is due to the fact that people pre-ordered $100 packages for a game that was never going to be released.
So it’s quite possible that this negative press has forced the company to change their original plans and maybe they are going to rethink the possibility of EverQuest Next. That being said we don’t know what they are doing they could be making another EverQuest game under a different name.
Daybreak is operating in a very suspicious way that seems to be bending to the will of the players but until we can get more details regarding what the game is or the type of game it is going to be it is all just simply speculation.
