Nintendo has finally unveiled its plans for its new Nintendo Switch online service. This new online service will include cloud saving and include some older retro games that subscribers can play. However, if you have multiple Nintendo Switches the company will be offering a family membership, which will allow up to eight different devices on a single subscription.
However, opposed to the basic membership which is limited to one account, all of the accounts on the family membership can enjoy the full benefits even if they are on separate systems. The family plan will cost $35 (a year) this is less than the cost of two separate memberships together, and you can start creating a family group next week May 15th.
The new online services come with several benefits including cloud saves, a selection of 20 NES games (more are expected to be added) and all devices will have access to online play for all Nintendo Switch games.
Online play for Switch games has been available for free, however, come September this is changing and will require a subscription. A single member account will cost you $4 a month, $8 for three months or $20 a year.
Nintendo has announced 10 retro NES games so far, with the other ten to be announced at a future date. They’ve undergone some tweaks to make them online-enabled as well. The initial ten are:

- Ice Climber
- Dr. Mario
- The Legend of Zelda
- Super Mario Bros. 3
